Another day when I’m tight on time, today because of Variety Show rehearsals. That means more koala tea music, though.
Or at least I hope so.
I first heard about Bon Iver at the end of last year because they were involved in a couple of tracks on Kanye West’s masterpiece My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (‘Monster‘ and ‘Lost in the World‘, both brilliant songs). My interest in them was again piqued when I realised their song Babys was the one on that Miller ad.
Flume is the first track from Bon Iver’s superb first album, For Emma, Forever Ago. It’s serenely underrated, a gorgeous acoustic piece that just makes me want to go outside and lie in the grass on a sunny day. I don’t even know why. I don’t think I’m a deep enough thinker to have a proper opinion on its lyrics, but it’s one of those songs I could listen to forever. It’s not in-your-face, it’s not hugely repetitive, it’s not manufactured-sounding. It feels so solid or pure or something. I am particularly fond of acoustic guitar, not gonna lie.
I’m not good at describing music at all, so just give it a listen and hopefully enjoy :)
